Independent informational publication
CMMC Field Guide is an independent educational and research publication. It is not NIST, a U.S. government website, a contracting office, a C3PAO, or a certification authority. The site explains public source material and offers practical organization methods. It does not issue a CMMC status, assessment score, legal opinion, contracting determination, or government authorization.
Accuracy and current information
We aim to use current primary sources and show update dates, but cybersecurity standards, acquisition clauses, program implementation, and procurement facts can change. A guide can become outdated after publication. Before relying on a conclusion for an award, assessment, or contractual representation, check the linked primary source and the documents that apply to your organization.
Tools and templates
Interactive tools provide simple calculations or triage questions based on information you enter in your browser. They do not inspect contracts or networks and should not be treated as an assessment. Templates are blank working aids. You are responsible for replacing placeholder fields and examples with accurate system-specific information and for protecting any sensitive data you add after downloading a file.
Acceptable use
You may read, link to, and use the site for ordinary business research. You may modify downloaded templates for your own organization.
